Exploration of Brussels : An immersion of three days with Thirsting For Europe.

Soif d'Europe is a European school education cooperation partnership project funded by the European Union's Erasmus+ programme, bringing together members of educational associations and school staff with two associations and ten partner schools over a two-year period. Learn more

The project includes a number of trips, including one to Brussels from 4 to 7 March. It marked the first activity in the project. The aim of the trip was to present the European institutions and to meet and talk to people who see Europe as central to their jobs and concerns. The partners were able to gather resources, exchange ideas and observe.

The first day in Brussels was dedicated to the visit of the European Parliament with the meeting of the European deputy Sabine VERHEYEN and the visit of the Maison de l'Histoire européeenne (House of European History).

On the second day, the team met up at the European Commission for two lectures by members of the Directorate-General for Education and Culture on: the European institutions and the Erasmus+ programme.

Following this informative morning, the early afternoon was spent role-playing in the Parlamentarium. The group then chose between two guided tours: a visit to the centre of Brussels or a visit to the Belgian Comic Strip Centre.

The third and final day began with an information session at the European Council, followed by a tour of their premises. To round off the trip, we had an appointment with Aude Körfer, permanent delegate of the Maison de la Bretagne Europe (House of Brittany Europe) in Brussels.

There, the participants were able to take stock of the three days and discuss the next stage of the programme.
