About us

INTER+VALUE is a French association (under French law of 1901) with an international scope, promoting intercultural exchanges, international cooperation and solidarity in cultural, educational, environmental and social fields.

Founded in 2020, INTER+VALUE was first developed in Rennes Métropole and Brittany, with a focus on Erasmus+ projects, before expanding its activities to other parts of Europe.

Together with our members and partners (including other associations, local authorities and schools), we develop projects and organise activities, events and productions in a spirit of conviviality and solidarity.

CONTACTS IN FRANCE > We are currently open to the public on Wednesday afternoons at the Maison des associations in Bruz (part of Rennes Métropole, where INTER+VALUE's head office is located) and on Thursday afternoons in Rennes, where we have premises (see addresses at the bottom of the page).

CONTACTS IN PORTUGAL > As it expands across Europe, INTER+VALUE is organised into two regional branches: one in Brittany (France) and another in Vimioso (northeastern Portugal), coordinated by a volunteer correspondent who can be reached at the municipal library.

Activities

Once a month, INTER+VALUE runs a friendly book club called INTER+CAFÉ, hosted by Janine Bailly, a former literature lecturer and leading literary, theatre and film critic. Over a hot drink, each session of around an hour and a half focuses on a book enjoyed by the host or club participants.

Since October 2024, INTER+VALUE has been running INTER+CLaC events (standing for INTER+(VALUE) Cap Langues et Cultures) every two or three months. Participants take part in an afternoon of friendly cultural encounters, discovering an exhibition, a film, a play or a live musical performance, and discussing topical issues.

Confluences & Frontiers is a project aimed at promoting and enriching the culture and heritage of the territories involved. Launched at the request of a Portuguese municipality, the project has resulted in a major local event in 2023 and a range of productions (conferences, art exhibitions, books, murals, etc.), inspiring new projects in France (Brittany) and in Spain (Galicia)...

Thirsting For Europe is a programme aimed at improving the knowledge, communication and education about Europe. During its initial two-year phase (2023-2024), participants – including members of associations or school staff from four countries (France, Italy, Portugal and Romania) – have shared experiences, practices, data and resources on a dedicated website accessible to all.

INTER+VALUE Erasmus+ is a two-year European modular training programme. It is aimed at all education and training staff who want to master and manage multilingual and/or intercultural situations in an educational context, as part of their daily life or during mobility abroad. This programme began in 2022 and ended in 2024.

Using the issue of desertification in the Sahel and the international Great Green Wall project, this project aims to raise awareness and mobilise young people in Brittany around climate issues and their social implications.

Starting in 2024, various initiatives will be launched: a screening of the film The Great Green Wall, debates and discussion groups, project presentations and development, exchanges between young people and between schools, and more.

OUR GREEN CONNECTION • CONNEXION VERTE BRETAGNE-SAHEL

Since 2022, INTER+VALUE has been publishing books (photo albums and catalogues) as part of the Confluences & Frontières project. After the beautiful photo album entitled Trás-os-Montes in 2022 and the catalogue of the José Quina Ethnological Museum (Museu Etnológico José Quina) in 2023, a new photo album was published in 2024: Terras de Vimioso, suas gentes e costumes (Municipality of Vimioso, its people and its customs), featuring numerous photographs of the landscapes and special features of the municipal area of Vimioso (Portugal).

Productions

As part of the Confluences & Frontières project, which showcases the culture and heritage of European partner regions, INTER+VALUE contributes to enriching this heritage by coordinating the creation of murals by Chilean artists Jotapé and Allan Halley. Following Ribadavia (Galicia, Spain) and Vimioso (Trás-os-Montes, Portugal) in 2023, Bruz (Brittany, France) has been selected to host four new murals in 2024.
