Project - Our Green Connection
6/11/2024
This project aims to raise awareness and mobilise young people in Brittany around climate issues and their social implications, in particular through the question of desertification in the Sahel and the Great Green Wall international project. Our Green Connection is above all an exchange between the INTER+VALUE association and the Club pour l'Unesco of the Bertrand d'Argentré secondary school.
This "Our Green Connection" project embodies the very essence of citizen and environmental action. Right in the heart of Brittany, a dynamic group of young people are rallying around the issues of climate change and international solidarity, with a particular focus on the crucial question of desertification threatening the Sahel.
This project offers a platform for exchange and action for young people in Brittany, inviting them to delve into the heart of climate and social challenges, while exploring concrete solutions for a sustainable future. The screening of the film "The Great Green Wall", followed by debates, the presentation and promotion of local ecological projects, and enriching meetings with partner African students will be actions at the heart of the project.
But that's not all! Young people will not be mere spectators, but the architects of change. They will be organising debates, actively participating in sustainable initiatives and forging strong links with their Sahelian counterparts. Through this experience, the aim is to raise awareness, transform ecological and social behaviour, and promote international solidarity.
The project is supported by Réseau Bretagne Solidaire and funded by the Solidaires Pluriels scheme.

A number of events are being organised as part of this project.
Let's take a look at one of them!
On Monday 11 March, a Great Green Wall day was held at the Lycée Simone Veil in Liffré. Pupils were shown the film and then given the opportunity to debate in small groups the various issues raised in Jared P. Scott's film. A great success!

On Tuesday 14 April, INTER+VALUE visited the Saint-Joseph-Bossuet secondary school in Lannion. After the screening of the film The Great Green Wall by Jared P. Scott, discussions with the pupils led to some interesting comments on the various themes addressed in the film. Find out more +
On Tuesday 4 June, at the Lycée Simone Veil, the students presented their final work on an exchange platform for the school's students. At the start of the new school year, the Senegalese pupils, in association with this class, will be giving their feedback, in particular through the ‘What about you?’ questions asked by the French pupils.
